Where did the summer go? Did we have one? What a washout! I'm sure the weatherman said we were going to have a mini heatwave over the week-end. All I can say is if we did I wasn't looking.
Went to a family barbecue yesterday and sat close to the gazebo in case the burgeoning cloud decided to drop it's load, but as it turned out it didn't. We had a lovely time catching up with all the family goss. I was told a fascinating tale, which would have made a great novel - the only thing is, the story was told to me after imbibing a few at the end of the day and I've forgotten half of the story! Blah.
There are Christmas cards in the shops, and some kids haven't even gone back to school after the summer holidays, yet. Do you think a credit crunch makes the retailers more panic stricken than usual, therefore desperate to get their merchandise on the shelves? I do.
Looking forward to watching Martin Clunes tonight. I love dog progs and will be watching with my trusty German Shepherd Max - oh, and him indoors too!
Speak soon Sheila

The summer seemed to be for several weeks from Monday to Thursdays only. I have to admit that I did have a week off at the end of July and it was blissfully warm every day. I think that was the sum total of my summer though.
I can't believe it's time to start thinking about Christmas, too ghastly.
